We are pleased to announce that our office has added a state of the art retinal scanning instrument called an OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography).  The Cirrus high-definition OCT by Zeiss Meditec uses advanced imaging technology to allow the optometrists at our office to examine the retina in cross sectional views beneath the retinal surface.  It only takes a few seconds to scan each eye and it's very easy for the patient.  The OCT allows doctors to diagnose retinal diseases earlier than ever before and it is also used to monitor progression.  Problems such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, vitreous detachment and many others can now be managed more successfully.  Ask for a tour of the new instrument at your next visit.
