OCT test for anterior chamber of the eye

This anterior chamber image allows us to see the angle between the cornea and iris where intra-ocular fluid flows out of the eye.  This is very useful in diagnosing glaucoma. The OCT test is very similar to an MRI – but uses “optical ultrasound” to create 3-D images and cross-sectional views of tissue that could normally not be seen.  The Zeiss-Meditec OCT at Gailmard Eye Center can be used in the front part of the eye as described and it also provides images of the retina, optic nerve and macula.
