Dr. Amanda Sprehe graduated from Crown Point High School, received her B.S. degree in biology from Purdue University Calumet and her O.D. degree from Indiana University School of Optometry, all with honors. She served as an associate instructor at IU, was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and completed clinical externships at Michiana Eye Center and Muncie Eye Center. While in optometry school, Dr. Sprehe received the Dean’s Research Scholarship, Crown Point Lion’s Club Scholarships and the Acuvue Contact Lens Award.
Dr. Sprehe helped develop the Pediatric Vision Clinic at Gailmard Eye Center, where she specializes in vision problems of children and vision therapy. Much of this work centers on disorders such as amblyopia, strabismus, binocular vision deficiencies, perceptual problems and learning disabilities. Dr. Sprehe is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, the Optometric Extension Program, and the Indiana and American Optometric Associations.
